Computer is shot!!!

Well, it's official, my beloved lap top is toast! I dropped it off at Best Buy to the Geek Squad. They called yesterday to let us know it would be $1300 to get it back up and working. Uh, no thank you.
So, onto something else. I fear that I am going to have to give up my 17 inch screen. This certainly wasn't a timely thing with Disney coming up soon. Oh well.
We'll see what we end up with.

Oh the things kids say....

Rob was trying to find something for the kids to watch on TV the other day. Their new thing is to watch cartoons on Boomerang. They are watching cartoons that Rob and I watched as kids, The Banana Splits, Hong Kong Phooey, and Tom and Jerry! Well anyway, there was a cartoon on that I don't let them watch and Jordan proceeds to tell Rob, " Daddy, that show is not appropriate for children!" Rob just bust out laughing. Man, she is her mother's daughter.

Jordan's dance recital

The time finally came.....Jordan's big dance recital at the Berry Center! The Berry Center is a huge auditorium where we have gone to see some wonderful plays. This was a whole weekend event for her. On Saturday we had to go to the dance rehearsal. Jordan's teacher, Miss Megan, had told all of the parents that the kids had to wear age appropriate make-up. Well, she's 4!! To me that means NONE! I did give in and buy her some cute pink frosty lipstick. As I was putting that on her I thought she could use some blush, next thing I know I am putting mascara on her!! Geeez! Jordan was loving every minute of it. I thought she looked adorable.

Here she is all made up and ready to go to rehearsal. We couldn't put her costume on until we got there. We might squish her Tutu.

Oh my goodness! What a beauty.

This is in the lobby of the Berry Center.

Here we are back stage having a run through. One of the other girls moms had memorized the girl's routine and wanted them all to practice before the practice????? Either way it was a great way to get some really cute pictures.

On the stage! We weren't allowed to take any pictures or videos of the actual performance on Sunday so this was our only chance to get some. You'll notice that Jordan's head is turned for most of these. That's because Miss Megan is off stage doing the dance with them.

Jordan's class and teacher

The school had arranged for a professional photographer to
take all the kiddos pictures and video the whole thing on Sunday.
We haven't purchased the video yet. So, here's my amateur video
of the rehearsal. Poor Jordan had a terrible runny nose.

It's Sunday now and time for the "real" performance. Jordan was so excited to dance on stage for us.

We had to drop Jordan off backstage before the performance. Only one Mom could stay back there with them. The Mom who volunteered to stay with them was fantastic! She brought a DVD player for them and made all the girls sweet little princess bags with great stuff inside. I made rice krispy squares and brought juice bags for them. They had a great time backstage. Rob, Jacob and I got to watch the entire show.

Kaitlyn, Jordan and Shelby

Jacob brought his sister some roses.

How sweet is that?

Uncle Tommy's surprise visit

What a great day this is going to be! Rob has taken the day off from work to attend playgroup with us. We also have a HUGE surprise planned for Jacob and Jordan. We started the day with a train ride to drop us off at the Miller Outdoor Theater to see Peter and the Wolf.

Here we are with all of our playgroup friends waiting for the show to start

The first half of the play was different than we expected. It was like a music lesson. The characters introduced us to the instruments that would represent them later in the play. J & J were very interested in this. Some of the other kiddos in our group were not so interested and very restless!

Let the real play begin!
Here's Duck.

and the WOLF!!!

2 J's and an R enjoying the show.

Finally they captured that bad ole wolf!

It is the beginning of June and what is a hot June day with out ice cream???

Rob and I told the kids that we were taking them to the
airport to watch airplanes take off. An adventure all on
it's own.......only there's more!!

video

Don't be fooled, there are tears under those Foster
Grants!! Mine too!

video

I didn't think Jordan would ever let go of Uncle Tommy.

Three very happy people

The twins wanted to show Tom all the planes they were watching take off

OK, here we go!! 3 kids in the back seat! J & J were throwing ALL of their animals at Tom. They all thought that was VERY funny.

Karate chop for you Uncle Tommy

Who's enjoying this more???

Man were they all wound up!

video

This is Jordan's new thing, crossing here eyes. Look, there's two Uncle Tommys

Tom had been warning me that when he got here he was going to pinch cheeks!

Jacob just loves him to death.

Jacob and Jordan came and got me with a very important
mission. They wanted to put their Gator outfits on and
surprise their uncle.....

video

Tom brought a new toy for the kids, and Rob. A race car computer game. All 3 of them were instantly hooked, and still are! Rob had to put it on his computer.

Tom just brings out the silliness in these two

I just love this picture of this picture of my sweet baby boy

We're at Jordan's ballet class and the boys are occupying their time playing with Hot Wheels

Well, it's Sunday now and time for Uncle Tommy to go back to the airport. The visit has been short but wonderful. I know that J & J wish Uncle Tommy could stay here forever. I just wish he lived closer so visits could be more frequent!

We went and had haircuts. Jacob's cut is Toms influence!! Not my favorite cut. I think Jacob went from a Ralph Lauren ad to a Wal-Mart ad!! Hair grows......thank goodness!!!

See you next time Uncle Tommy!

Mom's Day, Nicholas, Slam Dunk

Mom's day! Gotta love it. I got to sleep in until 9:00 that morning. J and J woke me up with breakfast in bed and some beautiful flowers. I am so thankful that I am able to celebrate this holiday.

Jordan hanging out on our bed watching TV in her goggles???

The kids had to bring in a picture of themselves with their pets to school. I just love the way these pictures turned out. This is our dog, Nicholas. He is the best dog ever. So gentle and patient.

Doesn't it look like Nicholas is saying " I just love you Jordan"

We got a new toy for the pool....Here's Jacob
showing off his slam dunk

Jacob's Mayfest-Cypress Academy

Jacob had Mayfest last month. This is Cypress Academy's version of a recital. The kiddos practice a special routine for about a month before Mayfest that they get to perform for all the parents. This is also a time for the kids to show off all they have learned in gymnastics. Viewing all these photos and videos as I upload them here, I realize how bored Jacob was. In classes he can do all these things no problem. During Mayfest he was really just going through the motions. There wasn't anything challenging to him anymore. Since Mayfest Jacob has been invited to participate in a boys only advanced class. He LOVES it!! He is doing things that actually challenge him now, pommel horse, high bar, rope climbing, rings and lots of trampoline work. His coach told me that they only ask the "studs" to participate in this class.

Rob and I are so proud of him.
The coaches at Cypress Academy really go all out to decorate the gym for this event.

All the kids worked really hard to learn this routine
to the Lion King.

video

Jordan was really excited to watch her brother do all of his tricks

Jacob on the balance beam, not one of his favorite things to do

The trampoline, on the other hand, is a definite favorite

All of the kids who participate in Mayfest get trophies and a cool t-shirt. Jacob has his trophy on his nite stand with his swimming trophy from last year. He is so proud of them.

Working on their ROAR!!!!
