On Sunday we decided to go to the Houston Air show. Jacob is so into airplanes we really thought he would enjoy it. So, we packed up our stuff and off we went.
The first thing we saw when we got there was a Coast Guard helicopter that the kids could get inside of. That was a huge hit. Jordan even got to sit in the rescue basket. Jacob only had eyes for the pilots seat!
Next we were onto a Blackhawk helicopter that we had to wait in an incredibly long line to get into. It was also hot as all get out!! I waited in the line while Rob and the kids went and saw some of the other airplanes at the show. They really had some neat ones there. We finally got to go in the Blackhawk. We sat in the jump seats and of course the pilot seat. The kids thought is was very cool. Rob was just as impressed.
We soon realized that we were complete novices at this whole Air Show thing! We should have brought chairs to sit in and watch the airplanes do their stunts, umbrellas to give us some shade from the incredibly hot day and we also should have snuck food and water in! $4 for water????? We'll know the next time. This next photo shows how Jacob and Jordan spent the rest of the Air Show, with their hands over their ears. It was really, really loud. Jordan did realize that she likes fireworks, the day time ones not the night time ones. We saw planes doing loop de loops, colored smoke coming from lots of planes, bombs being dropped, military planes and for the finale, The Thunderbirds!! AmazingWe had a great time and will go again for sure. Jacob, Jordan and myself all fell asleep on the way home. Napping is great! Thanks Rob for driving home.

We have been doing so many fun things these past couple of weeks. I really wanted to get pictures up from Jim and Mom's visit, our vacation, the kid's birthday and Cathy's visit but if I wait until that is done I will never catch up! So, here's some photos from what we have been doing lately.
Last Thursday instead of going to school, we had a field trip with their class to the Children's museum. Here is a photo I got of Jordan telling us a story while doing a puppet show. It was great. She always starts the stories, "Once upon a time" After Jordan was done with her story, Jacob and Morgan, their friend from school, joined in and they were all dressing up and telling us more stories. Of course my camera's battery died and I didn't get photos of the 3 of them being sooo cute. It was fantastic listening to their imaginations at work.
The twins had their very first visit to the dentist on Monday. They saw a pediatric dentist named Dr. Regina Lewis. My multiples group highly recommended her. Jacob and Jordan were not worried at all about going. Rob and I tried to explain to them what was going to happen there so they would be prepared. When they called us for our turn the assistant, Lisa, took them to their room. They both got to pick out toys before they even did anything!! This made the kids very happy. Then Lisa asked who wanted to go first and Jacob chimed right in that he did. What was different for me was that they had the kids sit in the chair instead of laying down. I think this made them more comfortable. Lisa proceeded to clean and floss their teeth and let both of them help with the squirty water and the suction hose. Jacob really liked the suction straw, he kept asking for more water just to use the straw again.
The results of the visit were great. No cavities for either one of them. The Dr. did tell us that Jordan has a cross bite and will eventually need an appliance to spread the top of her mouth to correct her bite, similar to a retainer. She wants to wait to do that until she gets some more visits in.
What a great way to begin their dentist experiences. Rob and I were so proud of them!

I haven't posted anything in so long! It seems that since the kids started school we have been going non stop around here. I have one more big event to get through and then I am going to update the blog with our happenings. I just had to post one picture really quick. My daughter is officially a girly girl. She has decided that gymnastics is not her thing any more and insisted that she begin ballet class. Who am I to argue? So, here she is, Princess ballerina Jordan:
Is that something?? She is having a blast. We'll see how Jacob does in the morning when he has to take his first gymnastic class without Jordan.
