4th of July 2012

Happy 4th of July!! We went back to Round Top for their parade this year. We just love how down home it seems, J and J love the candy! This is our 4th year and we have learned a lot. We now bring a pop up tent and tons of water. We had a great corner spot to watch the parade and all of it in the shade!!!

Whoever owns this house had a really neat string of red, white, blue bandanas on her fence. They were just safety pinned to the rope. Cute! J and J are ready for the parade to start so I will stop asking to take their picture.
They are barely tolerating a picture with Mom!
The 2012 Round Top 4th of July parade begins........
Uncle Sam, Statue of Liberty, Flags and a Beauty Queen! What more can a float ask for??
Red, White and Blue sparkly horse butt!!!
Ha! This float was a riot! You have to have seen the show Duck Dynasty to appreciate this one.
Up and ready to catch some candy from, Ben Franklin?
This is one of my favorite parts of the parade! Long Horn Steers just cruising down the street! There was a lot more of them last year. Must be to hot for the rest of them.

I have to say that this scared me a little! He was definitely eyeballing me!!
They were having a blast singing gospel songs!
Phew! It's hot! The parade is over. I didn't take that many pics of it this year. I found myself just kicking back and enjoying it! Building memories!
After a much needed break from the heat we were off to our friends, the Behar family, for a backyard bbq! They had a fantastic firework display that they shot off! From their backyard we had a 360 degree view of fireworks going off all over the place!
I am not very good at taking photos of fireworks yet. Here are some of the ones that I liked. It was like Disney World, the fireworks went on and on and on!

I have no idea what happened to this picture, but I love it! This is Jacob shooting off his very first Roman Candle!!! NOT my idea!
Jacob was cracking me, when I wasn't freaking out a little, every time he shot off a Roman Candle he would stand like that! Hand on hip and arm straight out! He absolutely loved shooting those off. Big smiles!
The Finale!!! Happy 4th of July everyone!!
