It is our tradition to go the Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade every year. There was some question about whether or not we would be able to do that this year. Apparently it had gotten so expensive that the city was talking about not having it anymore. Well, they managed to find a way to hold it! We are so glad! There were some notable changes this year though. The first thing was that they eliminated our beloved "Turkey Seats"! That meant we had to schlep chairs, blankets and all the rest of our stuff and actually find a place along the route. We would have gladly paid for reserved seating like in years past! They also shortened the parade route this year which meant less places to sit and see the parade! It was quite an ordeal navigating through the masses of people with a wagon full of our stuff (thought using it was a great idea at the time), 3 kids and no real destination in mind.
Once we found a good place to stop, all was well and we really had a fantastic time! It was FREEZING!! We thought it just added to the whole experience. We also brought Jacob's friend Jack. We were invited to spend Thanksgiving with his family later that afternoon. We usually are on our own for Thanksgiving, so this was a welcome change for this year.
